Weird, gorgeous succulent

Post by wbruan »

Hey guys!

Me again .

I have one more ID request. This beauty makes the most gorgeous red flowers. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of it in full bloom. You can see one flower that is already closed again on the picture though. Any idea what it may be?

Thanks!

Ruan

Not sure is the current name, so you can figure it out from: Opuntia/Cylindropuntia/Austrocylindropuntia subulata. I had no idea these bloomed. Nice find upon looking up! :)

Austrocylindropuntia subulata fits. Unusual to see flowers on a potted specimen, but they produce 2-4 inch red flowers.
