Hello, On Sunday I was given a huge plant by a friend. I believe it is an aloe but do not know which sort. Could it be the kind you can make a healthfood drink from or does it have any other special qualities? Thank you for helping. Best regards, Edwin

Thank you for replying. I looked that one up. It is similar but I think the stems on mine are thicker. More importantly the teeth do not go round the stem on mine which it says is the distinguishing mark of aloe ciliaris.

Probably I should have included a picture showing the leaves and a picture showing the stems of this sprawling aloe. I shall try to put them in this message now.
