No idea about this plant - please helt to identify

Post by mrbizzy »

Hello. here are some photos of a plant that sits in my kitchen and all i know is what the person who got it long time ago has told me - it is poisonous.
I would rather believe it could be more toxic than a green tea leaf but anyways would like to know what exactly is it??

Euphorbia neohumbertii, and quite a nice specimen at that! The leaves are mildly toxic. Basically it could give you a rash if it got on your skin and you didn't wash it off. Obviously don't get it in your eyes or ingest it either, but it really isn't something you should worry about.

I would have guessed Euphorbia leuconeura

Thank you.
It really looks more like "euphorbia leuconeura" indeed, comparing many pictures that internet search returns.
Saxicola, what makes you think it is neohumbertii? Any special signs or will you also agree that it is more likely the euphorbia leuconeura specimen??

It's definitely a leuconeura.

I think Teo is correct now. Honestly I had forgotten about that species and E. neohumbertii has a very similar stem and leaves to it.
