What makes you think it is a hybrid? It reminds me quite a bit of H. thuretii var. primulina.

Yes, it certainly does. Thank you!Saxicola wrote:What makes you think it is a hybrid? It reminds me quite a bit of H. thuretii var. primulina.
It wasn't so much that I had a good reason to think it was a hybrid. It was more that I spent 2 hours looking though thousands of images I got for googling "Huernia flowers" and saw nothing like them.

Huernias are tough so I'm not surprised you searched for that long without luck. I knew I had seen it before and suspected it was a form of H. thuretii, but I had to go to a book on Stapeliads to confirm the ID. Anyway, enjoy the plant! Those pure yellow flowers are beautiful.

I never used to be a bog fan of Huernia, but I'm starting to get hooked...I now have 2 known and 2-3 unknown species (2 of which should bloom soon, so maybe I can figure out what they are!). This one - being a fan of yellow flowers in general - is a gorgeous plant and flower!
