If you have a succulent plant and need help identifying it, this is the place to post it.

Grapto?

Post by CelticRose »

This was part of an unlabeled dish garden from Altman's that I bought at Target. You can see it's original setting here: http://www.cactiguide.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10676

One person has suggested an Echeveria of some sort, but I'm thinking a Graptosedum or perhaps a Graptopetalum?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. :)

I have one like that too (the right one). I don't know what it is because I lost the label.

I've also had a suggestion of Graptoveria.

I forgot to mention that these are two separate plants. I think they're the same species, however.

I always call them Sedum bronze, but they are all so close that I'm never sure. Maybe Rosemarie passes by.

I'd add graptoveria Debbie as a possibility, looka the Graptoverias listed on the site above. This is a great site, expecially when you get those Target, Home Depot, Walmart Plants. They all come from Altman's.

Frankly you may not know til it flowers or even then.

Well, Altman's plant library would be the right place to find succulents you pick up at Home Depot, Walmart, Target etc. because they are the people who grow them.

Yeah, I checked Altman's website first since it came from there, but a lot of the rosette-shaped succulents look too much alike to me. Bear with me -- I'm still learning.

So, right now the consensus seems to be Graptosomething and a flower may be needed for a positive ID?

Thanks for your help, folks. :)

I believe the one on the left is xGraptosedum 'Bronze'. The one on the right could be an xGraptoveria. Flowers would help for ID.

Thanks, Rosemarie. :)

Well, at least I got it half right. I orignally suggested xGraptosedum 'Bronze' on the other thread (see first post for link), but I thought they were both the same species.

I'll post again if they flower.

Thanks for all your help, everyone. :D

I don’t think it was on the market 9 years ago, but I am in agreement (other than tweak on the intergeneric name), them both being xGraptosedum ‘California Sunset’.
