I got this cutting from a friend in Austria. They did know much about the plant but liked it (think they kept it in a conservatory). Plant is about a year and a half old and have finally decided to ask for some help identifying it. I have looked through loads of photos on the net and wondered if it were a epiphyllum hybrid of some sort. That assuming it is a succulent and not a cacti. Any information gratefully received.

Thanks

It is indeed an Epiphyllum hybrid, but impossible to tell which one without flowers. By the way epiphyllums are cacti.

Thanks Astro. I appreciate your reply - novice here so unsure whether cacti or not. Any tip or hint on growing gratefully accepted. Would like to know how hardy they are - wondered what temperature drop they can survive safely or whether they would be better suited to indoors in UK.

They're not frost-hardy, so you need to bring them indoors in the winter. They like more moisture and a more organic soil than desert cacti, and light shade.
