I have a few dozen Tillandsia s that I have hanging in front of a window. I typically soak them once a week and have never tried misting, but out of the ones you mentioned I've had the easiest time with is T. ionantha . I second seed pods. If they're anything like the E. obesas I own, you'll want to cover the pods with something to catch the seeds if you want them (the seeds will "pop" out when ready)

If you can wait a year or two, ADBLPS has them available most years (just unfortunately not this year.) They tend to sell out within hours though.

Seed casing matches too. I'm guessing either an Ario or a related species.
Mesa does have a bunch of those, though I still question why they gave those as bonus on basis of Arios not being the easiest or fast growing./
