Opuntiad ID
Hi all! I was strolling through the DBG in Phoenix yesterday enjoying the 80 degree weather, and this Opuntiad was blooming nicely. At first, I thought it was a species of Consolea , but browsing through photos, I'm not so sure. Help please? Thanks, Tristan http://www.cactiguide.com/forum/userpix/40...

Two Opuntia IDs
Hi all! Obtained the following two unidentified Opuntia species today and was hoping for some help in IDing them for me. The first is reminiscent of O. paraguayensis , but also looks a lot like O. elata from the pics I can find in that the pads are more elongated. Almost no glochids (though they are...

Re: never- or rarely- flowering cacti
Grusonia agglomerata Grusonia (Corynopuntia) agglomerata was re-discovered recently by Davide Donati. He published the re-discovery with a description (and photos) of the flowers this year in: Davide Donati: Nuovo studio sul gruppo clavata del genere Corynopuntia Knuth: riscoperta di C. agglomerata...

Planting in winter is what I find works best for me too - but not sooner than Janua...

Cactus ID please
Hi all! On my shopping spree today (Xmas gift was a Gift Cert to my local C&S nursery!), I picked up an unidentified cactus that I just had to have (along with a bunch of other goodies that hopped into my box to take home!). :D To me, it looks like a Thelocactus ....maybe T. tulensis . Can anyon...
