Re: Pest and blisters
I misted everything with Safer's EndAll II and a few hours later with isopropyl alcohol. Could be too much but there were just too many. I plan to do the same again in 5 days. In the meantime, I'll just squash everything I see. If you have any thoughts about this, don't restrain yourself. Btw, I'm w...

Pest and blisters
Found some nasty buggers today  I already had what I tought were false spider mites. These were mainly on the plants flesh and they would do cork like damage. These ones are not mainly/only on the plants flesh but also on the pots. But mainly the new ones seems plumped with water and moving fas...

Re: Sick Grafted Gymnocalycium Cultivars
I'd say it'a goner. Once it's rotting, you'll have to remove any rotted tissue to prevent it to spread. Remove ALL brown/soft/mushy tissue and see what's left. From the picture, at least half of the gymno seems rotted, it probably won't be able to recover from the butchery. If you really want to try...

Re: Sick Grafted Gymnocalycium Cultivars
It seems to be rotting. The gymno cultivar would not survive alone. You could regraft some pups but you might simply want to buy another one. Rotting is usually the sign of too much water altough these things usually rot from the base.

Re: Any "lucky bamboo" owners?
I have one in a pot and 2-3 in water. I don't change the water that often maybe I should. Maybe once a month unless the water starts to turn brownish or greenish. As you said, it's a bit of a pain. I lost one in water because I totally forgot about it and all the water evaporated. The one in the pot...

Re: Where to take cutting
The cuttings shouldn't be unhealthy. How long have you having the plant ? It seems to have freshly etiolated growth and to need much more light. If you plan on giving them the same sun exposure, you'll end up in the same position.

Would cost me 50 extra bucks to have this "beauty" shipped over here. Still no bids, wonder why?

Re: Sick Cactus
It sounds like I should repot it and mix my cactus soil with perlite? Let me make sure I understand-you are suggesting that I cut the top of the cactus off and then repot the top? Then do I leave it unpotted for a week? Will it survive that? Do I need to cut out all the brown spots? Just another qu...

Re: Charlpic's Topic
Some seedlings... It's kinda weird but I like to mix things in a pot. I mostly try to put in stuff that will be easy to id. Sadly, a lot of them began to etiolate. I figure I should have them out asap as long as they are a bit shaded. Titanopsis calcarea and a small Haworthia arachnoidae - sowed 201...

Re: Charlpic's Topic
Thank you. This forum is just great at how many nice blossoming plants, healthy seedlings or amazing grafts you can see. I see it and I want to try it. I lost plants, I have etiolated ones, I lost a lot of seedlings and made a lot of unsuccessful grafts in the last 2 years. But I learned out of thes...
