Noticed these black areas on the O. humifusa. Doesn't look good, Rot? Slice those areas off?

Tony, whats that columnar type cactus there in the back of the largest clay pot at the top center of the picture? there's 3 of them. They look very similar to a small cactus I've got.Tony wrote:
