Is the white sprout fuzzy/ fluffy/cotton ball like? If it is then it could be fungus or mold.

(p.s.- if you don't get answers here then try re-posting in the grown from seed topic, there is a lot of info there about starting from seed and related problems)

http://www.cactiguide.com/forum/userpix/3159_rattail_1.jpg That is the way mine was growing before this year. It was horribly etiolated. This year I put it outside in April (I think..?) in full sun and left it out until October. The new growth is nice and thick and easily triple the growth that it ...

I like a lot of varieties of carnivorous plants but I am going to pick this butterwort as a representative. I enjoy watching the little gnat/mosquitoes/pests get stuck in the dew on their leaves . :?

Tracey,

I just ordered my first batch of dyckia seeds, but I have never tried them before. Do you mind sharing what type of mix you use for them and what your disinfectant is? Any tips for them?

thanks and look forward to your updates!

I just bought the same one at home depot. Someone broke off the top though. Not sure who yet. Doesn't matter. Being decapitated doesn't seem to stop it at all. I decapitated it accidentally when moving to a new house this spring and it sprouted two new branches from the injury site and the piece th...

Can you get a picture of it a little closer? From afar it looks like one I got at Home Depot here last year and you aren't far from me so it is probably the same one. It has been identified as Cereus peruvianus here on the forum. Here is mine so you can see if it looks like yours http://www.cactigui...

I don't know about the brown but in the 2nd picture you can see a small pup.

You could try and take him off because it looks like it has his own roots already. If you separate it and something happens or there is some disease in the large plant then maybe the pup could carry on...

I don't think I have put a picture up here yet.

This is Ziva. She's our 2year old Boxer. We just adopted her in May.
