Re: The arctic blast is coming!
Funny how it works out, you guys are shivering away while here downunder we are slowly melting! Hit 45C (113F) in my suburb today and just about all my outdoors plants are showing the effect from heat stress, no scorching but rather quite obvious yellowing. They are all hardened though and I've seen...

Re: San Pedro variegated?
Will probably fade in a day or 2 though, I've got the same plants in ground here that have been in for well over a year and they start looking like that during a hot day just to go back to normal virtually overnight. If you have good growing conditions be prepared for them to explode with growth onc...

Re: What kind of Column Cacti has 5
Short of freezing them just about nothing can kill one of these! I had one outdoors that fell over by it's own weight in February, chopped it into pieces as it was just to big to stand back up again and only kept one tip piece. Since then it's sat un-rooted ontop a bench in the backyard, some new ro...

Re: Snowfella's cactus trials
Been Echinopsis and Trichocereus time in the outdoors bed, still quite a few buds left to open too. First 2 taken in pitch black conditions the other night. http://i1268.photobucket.com/albums/jj576/Snowfella/DSC06453_zps6c4ca75c.jpg http://i1268.photobucket.com/albums/jj576/Snowfella/DSC06450_zpse5...

Should probably add too that it isn't a T bridgesii, looks more like a Pilosocereus of some sort.

Re: Radar guns can be a target!
Though I have to admit cases similar in nature happened down in Bosnia during my stay there. On an number of occasions both C130's and AH64's laser warning system detected being painted and released countermeasures, all from MP's laser speedguns.

Re: Snowfella's cactus trials
Crikey, been a while since I updated last! With spring out in full force here downunder, hit 35C earlier on in the week, things are very much starting to wake up both out in the garden and on the benches. Most potted plants are still working on filling in all the wrinkes a dry winter brought ...
