Looking at the photograph, due to the typical 3 ribs, way it has produced a large offset and the epiphytic roots, that is a Hylocereus undatus, although i'm not 100% about that at all, as it looks far too small to be flowering already, but age over size, I guess. If i'm right, then the chances of a ...

If you're going to take a cutting of one of them, go for the one in the middle, because the 2 either side look quite etiolated. (Thin, weak growth, due to a lack of light)

2 pots of seedlings

Well, I bought 2 variety mixes off Chiltern Seeds: Fast growing, columnar mix and a flowering mix. So, I thought i'd show what i've got so far. I started them off early in the year in my propagator, had a few issues with mould and algae, but the vast majority of them appear to have survived. Here th...

I've been using Levington cactus compost for a little while now. It's a mix of fairly course peat and coir, sand and low N fertiliser. I added also added Perlite and aquarium gravel to the mix. It drains well, but not immediately. As in the water may sit on the soil for a moment, then it soaks right...

I agree with Daiv, that is a C. gigantea or saguaro. It has some corking at the bottom and that is 100% natural so I wouldn't worry about it :) Yeah, i'm wondering how old they must be, considering my grandad grew them from seed and how slowly they grow. What causes corking? Is it similar to how ba...

Just the one

Well, I certainly don't keep as many succulents as I do cacti. The only succulents I have are a few Adenium Obesum, an Aloe Vera and another, what I presume to be an Aloe. http://www.cactiguide.com/forum/userpix/2949_Maybe_Aloe_Ferox_1.jpg And there it is, my mystery succulent. Shouldn't be much of ...

Just part of my collection.

Hey, i'm new to this forum and seems as though I discovered this forum trying to identify some of my cacti, I thought it might be wise to visit here first. 1.) After a little while trying to ID these cacti given to me by my Grandad, the closest match I found was Copiapoa Decorticans. Anyone agree wi...
