Hey Sue, what size is yours i got one that looks simular to yours if the spines get wet they turn blood red, mine is good size had it for several yrs now slooooooooooooooow grower but no cephalium. I will snap some pics of it today to show you the size it is next to my hand.

You can dunk it in water every now and then but it shouldn't be necessary to do it every week. It shouldn't even be necessary to water it every week.
