You're right. Majcka did think about such cactus. If grows in Alaska it should do it here too - or not?! That tall one had to be a fake one, if that's the one you are thinking of. Opuntia humifusa would probably do ok where you are, the winter rains where I live don't bother them. Are you su...

Another time I had bought my mother-in-law some colored lilies and one spring they didn't come up, so I thought they had d...

With what they know about inserting genes eventually they could come up with a variety that was more nutritious, which would be a godsend in...

It looks like you are growing this outside in North Carolina, is it safe to assume it can withstand temporary freezing? Your nights can get that cold, right?

Can you ID these column cacti?

These column cactus are supposedly in Pahrump, NV. According to weatherbase.com, it gets down to 26 degrees:

Is anyone here from Pahrump? I've read mixed reviews about it.

I'm sure Idaho gets as cold, if not colder, than Rhode Island, but I'm not sure if these plants would survive our winter rains.

Cactus ID

The picture is blurry but it looks a lot like the
Cereus Jamacaru that I have.
I read that ingesting some cacti can result in lung problems.
