Currently BCC is hotter then Phx, 106 in PHX, 107 here in BCC .. It's too hot, and will only get hotter

PS, yes and no. The problem in Arizona, is that non-native species, most of which were introduced by ranchers, burn at a much hotter tempeture then teh native vegatation burns at. I lost one that I cut off my O. engelmannii and just set in the ground last year but I think it was too hot at the time I did it and it dehydrated. I have a few in gound now, that I had to shade.. see how it works out .. this dang heat wave has me nervous

Lol - We were saved from the danger of moonburn - it clouded up and rained again. We never saw the moon. ...that some of the folks asking for IDs of their chunks of unrooted, freshly cut cacti, are just trying to determine if they'll get the desired effect by eating them? Opuntia, maybe Consolea , or maybe a Nopalea (which is lumped into Opuntia now) my guess is Nopalea (Opuntia) cochenifera but it might be a different Opuntia from that. a close up would help

I dont think it's a Mamm.. And I really don't know .. I do know for sure it's not Mamm spinomissa .. wrong color,.. but I dont know This one confuses me mightily.. if we ever figure it out I will remember it because it's so weird lol

BTW I would like to mention the first plant looks like Consolea falcata.. if you havent IDed it yet. that being said I see a horror show of badly etoilated plants.. Opuntia need lots of light..

not sure what the Agave is. It's nice tho. as are the rest of the plants. The Corypantha should get yellow and red flowers, I have the same one.. I think.

maybe a Cleistocactus straussii, but I am not sure. It's VERY blurry and sadly Cacti we need to see the details.

#1 Mammallaria elongata
#2 Ferocactus ssp. . I can't remember, but it's a Ferocactus for sure.
#3 is a Mammilaria
#4 is not a cactus, it's a Euphorbia.. not sure which Teo might be right.
#5 is a Gymnocalicum...
#6 is possibly a Ferocactus, might be something else.
