Re: My GreenHouse Build.

I built a Harbor Freight 10 x 12 greenhouse and I connected the unit to a foundations similar to yours. In addition I installed purlins and ceiling joist made of EMT conduit. The purling are not attached to the rafters, but to the top plate of the side walls length wise. I knew going in that a HF gr...

Re: My GreenHouse Build.

My are at table height with a lower shelf. It is easier for working on your plants and the lower shelf I put younger plants, cuttings and storage. It's your greenhouse and do what works for you. I have one greenhouse with three shelves, but I'm removing the top shelf out due to not being able to see...

Re: suggestions for cacti placement in garden

If your aloes are not getting sunburn, the cactus should be fine. You may want to protect the plant if you are moving it to a sunnier locations. The new growth could get burned.

Re: My GreenHouse Build.

I have built greenhouses from redwood, kits and a combination of EMT conduit and wood. The best is built from wood. The kits are what they are. I found the doors to be weak and I still added purlins and straining beams. Kits are quick and more easier, wood or from scratch, gives you pride in your wo...

Re: Given cuttings, unsure how to proceed. New!

Arizona this time of year I would place them where they would get partial shade to shade after 10:00am in pots in well draining soil and just cover the cut end. Water once a week, may be more or less, and they should do fine. I would transplant to permeant location in fall or spring.

Re: What's wrong with this beautiful cactus?

Echinopsis oxygona and Echinopsis bruchii grow in my yard and flower. A few of the E. oxygona will have some of the pups die out and I look at it as just growing them outside. Most are in full sun and with the low temps during the winter, I look at it as normal. E. bruchii bloomed heavy this year, a...

Re: What the Hell is Happening to US?

I see it as, we reap what we sow. I remember the Watts riots in California. In California you can steal up to $1000.00 and just get a ticket. Jail starts to get crowded, you get released. You hear on the news a person getting arrested again for stealing autos numerous times in a week, but gets relea...

The smaller piece is another plant. The large one is still intact, but if I move it, it mostly will break.

Ferobergia??

A little history on these seedlings. I have a Leuchtenbergia principis and if it flowers with my ferocactus I try to cross pollinate to get Ferobergias. I have a couple of Ferobergia seedlings that are older and these, well I'm not sure. At first I though these seedlings might be Echinocactus gruson...

Not the best pictures, I have it out of the way in the greenhouse where I don't want to move it. It almost broke in two the last time I moved it.

Re: Brain cactus cutting - help

Just treat it like any other cactus cutting. Although I don't bury the cutting, just have it touching the soil. 8)
