Did you sterilise the compost befpore sowing the "Crassula" seeds? If not, the grass may have already been in the compost. Crassula seed is (mostly?) tiny, and the seedlings astart off tiny, so sowing it on a surface of coarse sand or very fine grit may be a good idea. Hello, I germinated...
