Aloe gillettii. Somalia

This is the most rare Aloe in my collection. I would like to have another clone to pollinate them but is difficult to find, for the moment I am making new hybrids crossing with humilis hybrid, orlandii and castilloniae.

Maybe 50% or more are not very special, you can select the best plants but not always the seedlings are amazing, sometimes very good, sometimes normal, but it is part of the game :)

The story is that I have a friend with a very very big nursery growing succulents and cactus and he had a big production of obesa hybrids mainly from seeds, he had lot of good luck and he got many crested, I got the plants I could for me, of course :)

It is an amazing gallery from my friend, from Portugal. He grow big plants in the south of Portugal near to the sea.

I think they should have more nice lines but I suppose that they will have a better pattern in the future. I am relatively new with Lithops, then I have to learn a lot yet.

I think it is Aloe humilis x pratensis maybe, the people who sell this plant in Europe say that it is an humilis selection but I am not sure. I have one similar.

Yes you are right and the plants are making pups by stolon too, but the plants need time to grow. I tried the first time by pollination because the quantity of plants you get from seeds is higher.
