I have the same issue in CT. I emailed Hess pumice and they put me in contact with a distributor reasonably locally. You could try that.

Blendtec blends, but it won't crush gold ore.
I'll bet one of these would do just fine.
This is only sort of a joke.

Re: Watering with creek water ?
In my experience growing up around bedding plant greenhouses, plants did much better off brook water than they did on well water. But our well water has a ton of calcium, so that's probably why.

Re: need gloves 4 this
KW is right. A big thick towel is a much better option than gloves (or better yet, both). Just watch out if you use this method on Opuntiads cause you'll spread glochids through the wash if you aren't very careful. Had similar issues with a Chamaelobivia . Maybe it's best just to not wash it normally.

Re: Cactus soil mix supply help
I live in New England, and the only place I can find pumice is ebay. Shipping in kind of ridiculous, but my only other option is nothing.
It seems that if you don't live in a volcanic region, pumice is pretty difficult to find.

Does that also explain why I'm having issues from time to time with my browsers wanting to download the index instead of displaying it?

Re: Good places to get Cactus
Has anyone ordered from mountain crest gardens? (http://mountaincrestgardens.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) They seem to have a good variety of succulents, but since no one has talked about it, I am rather skeptical. I've seen a few posts on Reddit about them. Nothin...

Am I reading this right that Isopropyl isn't available readily in the UK? I can get 94% Iso at any pharmacy for less than $1.
