Yes it is possible to graft onto that new shoot, I assume you know how to do so and if you don't there's plenty of info on this website. My personal favorite grafting method is weights. Also just FYI the colored cacti grafts you buy usually have a life span of about 1-3 years...

Iv looked at yours more closely and I don't think that you have the same problem as me I'm almost positive that yours is simply damage to the plant if you separate the cacti then there is less of a chance for them to be damaged

Same here it seems to happen on the new growth and the spot starts red and then turns white. I'm testing mine so far iv come down to the conclusion that it is ether damage to the stem or some kind of bug

yes the red ones become the scars after a few days. what should i do to prevent this from happening in the futer?

my epis are hybrids (flower during the day and arnt white) and they all polinate each other ithink because every year when they flower they all have fruit with seeds

strange spots on cacti
so i have a few cacti that on the newest part of the growth appears a strange small red dot (randomly no pattern found) that will grow in size untill it reaches about a cm in diameter then stops and terns white it dosnt do anything to the cacti it just disfigures them and is super annoying ](*,) any...

im not 100 percent sure thet it is E. Spachianus it looks different i will add three pics taken from differnt angles the cactus is 24 cm high and 7 cm wide oh also the cactus grows the flower at the very beginning of summer/end of spring
