Cactus ID: 7 years seed grown

Hi, I need help IDing this group of seedlings I grew from seed about 7 years ago I think. The seed was sold to me as Uebelmannia pectinifera, but as you can tell this is not the case. Pictured is one of the seedlings (click links): https://imgur.com/EDa03PK https://imgur.com/VQFwx9D https://imgur.co...

Re: Grafted Astrophytum completely HOLLOWED OUT by something

Thank you for your replies. I threw the remains of the scion out today. I was going to keep it to see if I could graft the small offsets that had formed on it but by the time I got around to it the skin was too decomposed. I have had quite a few plants die suddenly on me, but I have never had one di...

Grafted Astrophytum completely HOLLOWED OUT by something

I put this Grafted Astrophytum on my overwintering shelf a few weeks ago, no indication of any illness prior, however when I glanced over at the shelf today I found the scion slumped over to one side. Examining it further I found the scion had been completely hollowed out, with the only thing inside...

Re: How to cure graft fungal infection?

I did some research, and I found this could be Fusarium. It is apparently known to infect non-succulent leafy plants like trees and houseplants, but does anyone know for sure if it infects cacti? Anyway, I am still having trouble with this somewhat, so I went and bought some neem oil which will arri...

Re: Driller's grafting log 2016

Another fall graft, this time though it is my first adult cactus graft! It is a peresk regraft, the species is Astrophytum myriostigma cv kikko. I left a little bit behind on the pereskiopsis since the plant had more than one head. Stock is T. pachanoi. IMG_3826-07-11-16-08-18.jpeg IMG_3827-07-11-16...

Re: Anyone doing butt grafts

I have successfully done one, a root piece from an ario seedling. It is actually more successful than the top piece for some reason, and it is shooting out many heads.

Anyone need Pereskiopsis?
