Hello again,
the cactus grows a lot of huge flowers since some weeks. Here is a nice picture of one. Since the flower is yellow I'd exclude trichocereus. Anyone any idea?

Re: Cactus Identification
Again, thanks a lot. However, I am confused (as probably most beginners are) by the names. I thought that Trichocereus peruvianus, Cereus peruvianus and Echinopsis peruviana were the same plant. Obviously I was wrong :-k I tried to find distinct features and here is what I got: The flower should be ...

Re: Cactus Identification
Thanks a lot for your help :D I've been told that they might sell it. Even though I would like some larger cacti, this one is HUGE! This might be a stupid question, but would it make sense to cut it in the middle and start over with a cutting? I know that this might be another stupid question, but w...

Re: Cactus Identification
Thanks again for your help I went back today to the shop and made a photo. The cactus did not bloom yet, so I can't tell anything about the flower.
Maybe that's enough info now? Maybe you can even tell something about the condition of the plant or its age?

Re: Cactus Identification
Thanks a lot for your advice. Now I just need patience ;) I also considered Cereus peruvianus, but I thought that five ribs are not enough since I read that it should have at least six. However I saw some five ribbed specimen in this forum. The Areoles are about 3 cm apart, so that would be slightly...

Cactus Identification
Hello, I discovered a huge cactus in a flower shop. It is not for sale, but they gave me a cutting. Does anybody know what cactus it is? The plant is about 2.5 meters high, has several branches, five ribs and is almost wooden at the basis. Finer details can be seen on the picture. I am not sure how ...

Re: Some of mine
I don't know if this topic is still hot. However, I am a beginner and found a grower in Germany who is specialised on outdoor cacti growing here. Homepage (in German): http://winter-kaktus.de I translated the most important facts: The following cacti can be grown outdoors in Germany (up to -20° Cels...
