Re: Hello from Nashville, TN

Hoteidoc, I think that's a foregone conclusion. Hahaha! Right now I rent and hoping to buy a house over the next year or two. At that point I'd already planned on something (bigger) and more permanent in the GH department. :)

Re: Hello from Nashville, TN

I've managed to fill up a 6x6 pop-up greenhouse and expecting a new shipment from Miles2Go next week. I'm not sure where I'm going to put them. Hahahaha Actually, plan on bumping up to a 9'x9' in August. I've picked up a few Adenium obesums and few other caudiciform succulents that I'm really enjoyi...

Basic spine damage question

First year grower here. Today I was at Home Depot and spotted a beautiful Echinocereus rigidissimus v. rubrispinus and made the purchase. When I got home I removed the straw flower w/ a pair of tweezers and pulled off a few of the gorgeous red spines. I can't find it in any of the past posts or (str...

Re: Hello from Nashville, TN

Thanks again everybody. After today I'm up to 40 cacti in my first year w/ a handful of succulents. I'll get some pics up soon. I just recently finished repotting most of them in a better soil mix, so it's still a work in progress. I've already learned a lot in this forum so its been helpful and a l...

Re: Need help identifying two ...

Most of my straw flowers came off rather easily. I had one on a torch cactus that might have torn some skin, but the others were removed rather easily by hand.

Re: Need help identifying two ...

Thank you for the responses. I'm glad you pointed out the 'lack of sunlight' because I had assumed that was their normal growing habit (which I thought was pretty neat .. lol). Thanks again for your help.
