Re: Agave ID?
That was what I was leaning toward but was not really sure as the other cultivars of A. vicotria-reginae that I have are all much more green and less grey.
Guess I have 4 forms of that species then.
Thanks

Agave ID?
Anyone recognize the Agave species? Tag I had in with these says Agave toumeyana toumeyana but the examples of that species all seem to have the margins of the leaves curling back.
Obviously just ignore the Aeonium.

Re: Fouquieria ID?
The seeds were from Mesa Garden (when it was run by Steven Brack) so I think there is a pretty decent chance of them being what they were labeled as. I will have to look more closely at them and see if I can make any decisions about separating them based off the color of the stems and leaves. Sounds...

Fouquieria ID?
Is it possible to ID Fouquieria without having to wait for them to flower? I have a mix of F. columnaris, F. diguetii, and F. macdougalii that I have been neglecting ever since I dropped their tray shortly after they germinated. Would really like to be able to figure out which plants are which speci...

Brevipalpus mites - control options?
I thought I had finally gotten rid of these horrible little things but I noticed one of my Astrophytums looking rather scarred all the sudden and sure enough...the Brevipalpus are back. For anyone who does not know these are very very tiny mites that reproduce parthenogenetically and will scar up yo...

Avonia quniaria alstonii recovery
Back to the forum for my every couple year post to share with you all this Avonia quniaria alstonii that I have had for many years (since 2009 I think). In mid 2012 it had a nasty encounter with mealybugs and shortly thereafter a fungal issue that left it looking like this: https://c1.staticflickr.c...

Re: Fungus on my grafted lophophora?
Those remind me more of spider mite damage than fungus damage.

Need some input on two grafts
I have had these grafts going for a few years and they are at the point where I just dont really know what to do with them for the future. Obviously...these are not the nicest looking cacti as I unfortunately dont have a greenhouse and it has really held back my plant aspirations. California's cold,...

Strombocactus disciformis 4 years later
Been a long time...but I remembered this forum existed finally! Anyway here is a long overdue update on my one surviving Strombocactus disciformis. I started this out way back in 2012 as a graft... Hopefully it has roots of its own by now but I wont know until I decide to repot it. 2012: https://c1....

Re: Euphorbia Ingens and Cereus Peruvianus Monstrosus
Euphorbias benefit greatly from lots of warmth when attempting to root them. During the summer here in Southern California I sometimes manage to root Euphorbia cuts in 2 weeks or less.

Re: Anything good near palm springs?
I think that Joshua Tree should be just about an hour away from Palm Springs, there are some cool cactus groves there - or at least there were when I was last there. I had heard something about them moving a road and also a large number of cacti. Anza Borrego might be worth a visit but I cannot real...
