Looking at images on google the flower of my epi does look like that of some of the photos of E. crenatum. Not as bad as I thought it was.

The ribs are pretty thin. I've recently potted it up and have been watering it for the past month but it hasn't really changed its plumpness at all since I first got it which was about 3 months ago.

That was my thought as well but I can't find any photos with a plant with large spines. It probably is though because the body matches and so does the flower so I'm happy to go with that.
