Re: Ciyo! from Katuah (southern appalachian mountains)

Welcome!
Good luck with keeping the plants healthy! Do still remember a lot of cacti like a lot of light - Personally a good soil mix has been particularly influential in how well/poorly my plants do, but noted I'm in a much different climate.

Dragon fruit would most likely be Hylocereus undatus, though there are a few other species that produce dragon fruit. I've had an easy time with them.

I know there's a fair amount of people who grow with wet and warm climates, some of them do exceedingly well. Hope you will as well!

Re: Looking for Pachypodium.

A friend of mine sells a few Pachypodium species she grew from seed, though I think only P. brevicaule and P. gracilius out of your list. Other than that she has P. namaquanum. I could ask her about them if you wish.

Re: In a garden in Quito

Looks to be Tillandsia tectorum. Based on the squatter form, location, and relative encounterability makes me think it's the Ecuadorian variety (the other variety being Peruvian), but the lack of really fuzzy trichomes make me question this a bit. Might just be from outdoor conditions.
