I guess I will air on the side of caution and let it stay in shade for a week and slowly move it out into the sun. The sunlight here i...

I also planted it with the roots as the dangled down so they went way to deep a bad mistake on my part also... the soil retained to much moisture as wel...

Seems I found what they are. Black Scale: Black Scale can usually be found on citrus plants, olive trees and vines. These small black insects cover the plants’ leaves and stems. This can reach a level where they can stunt the growth of the plant, as the plant is denied the necessary sunlight it requ...

I had some of those on one of my cactus. I squashed them and now I have treated all my cactus with systemic pesticide for those bugs and others.

There all from the same place and as far as I know they didn't clip them. The bottom left one Ferocactus pringlei spins broke off in my finger when I was potting it. I think it was just the rough parcel ride to me that broke them off as they were warped as best they could be but were a bit shaken st...

My newest buys plus a question :)

The Astrophytum ornatum didn't fair so well in travel to me and most of the spins aren't left, how long will they take to grow back? The other few fared well enough. Far right's not a new one I had it a few weeks :) the others only arrived today. http://www.cactiguide.com/forum/userpix/4420_29082011...

Is this right now? Re-potted Echinocactus ingens

Soil was damp added perlite. I also downsized pot to a 9cm it arrived in a 6cm and the big one I had it in before was 15cm. Now I have re-potted how long should I keep it in mostly shade before putting back out in the sun. http://www.cactiguide.com/forum/userpix/4420_20082011224_1.jpg http://www.cac...
