Re: Updated seed lists

Another question about a USA buyer getting seeds from overseas.... I've arranged for the seller to get a phyto certificate, but does anyone know if I need an import permit? Geeze, this process is COMPLICATED. Unless you are ordering more than fifty packets of seeds, you do NOT need a phytosanitary ...

Re: Updated seed lists

Also, I thought the limits would be applied according to whichever metric gets exceeded first? So, things like Blossfeldia seeds would get the count limit, since 10g would be many thousands of seeds. But cycad seeds would get the weight limit applied, since a packet would quickly exceed 10g before ...

Re: Updated seed lists

Yes, you need a phyto certificate for importing seed into the US. If you are buying small quantities (less than 50 packets per shipment and less than 50 seeds per taxon), you can apply for a free Small Lots of Seed permit: https://www.aphis.usda.gov/aphis/ourfocus/planthealth/import-information/per...

FYI - latest research suggests this species (along with frewenii and tuberculatus) are now all best considered as belonging to the genus, Xiquexique.

Re: Coryphanthas now being named Pelecyphora?

I think the paper (2022) you are referencing proposed maintaining Coryphantha by excluding Coryphantha macromeris (which was previously recognized as a 'wonky' taxon having been also assigned its own genus, Lepidocoryphantha ). The rest of Coryphantha remains as is. However, it was all of Escobaria ...

Re: Updated seed lists

You still have Succseed as a new chance, assuming most of these will be on the 1 December list. But have you tried the Czech seed sellers. These species are on the Czech seed lists too. And usually in much larger quantities, so a higher chance of getting them. But most have already been published. ...

Re: Updated seed lists

https://adblps-graines-cactus.com/ was updated last week... Ugh...I was too late to get anything I really wanted. Really bummed. Yeah, Aymeric de Barmon sells out of the popular stuff within hours. I got lucky this year and got most of my order, even though I submitted my order about 8 hours after ...

Re: Seeds of Brazilian to sale! Raizama Garden @raizama.garden

Hi!
I would like to register for the site, but it requires a CPF number, which I do not have because I am not Brazilian.
It would be ideal if you could make that field optional so I could register and order from your website.

Cheers,
Tristan

Who knows where Altman gets some of his names from?? But, in this case, I'd wager on someone not name-savvy just spelled it wrong on the assembly line, and the rest is history.

Re: Please help with ID

Pilosocereus baumii is an Altman's bastardization of Pilosocereus braunii, which is a synonym of Xiquexique (Pilosocereus) gounellei ssp zehntneri.

Re: Repot or not?

I've known really good growers that do both methods....so, up to you.
Personally, I like to separate out one to a pot, or space them evenly out in a larger pot if they are small enough; just so each seedling has space to grow on all sides.
