Rauhocereus or not Rauhocereus?

I've been growing the following plant for years, and based on comparison with others of this species, photos, and descriptions, it is definitely correctly identified as Rauhocereus riosaniensis: 23476568_10214932906781000_604524275_n.jpg A couple of years ago, I purchased this plant on eBay from a r...

Re: What plant do you want most, but have been unable to find?

Someday I'd love to grow Brasilicereus markgrafii & all the species of Leptocereus. Pipe Dreams, no doubt. :)

Re: Cleistocactus I'd please

My plant I obtained from Europe several years ago as "Cleistocactus brookeae", which I knew at the time it clearly was NOT...and it was only 10" tall. Once in ground, it shot up quickly and like yours is over 8ft tall. Last summer we had very intense sun very fast in early summer, and...

Re: Cleistocactus I'd please

This is a fantastic species of Cleistocactus that has usually been lumped in with Cleistocactus laniceps. However, the locality isn't quite right (Nuevo Mundo, Bolivia) for true C. laniceps , and true C. laniceps has distinctive areoles. Lowery (2016) recently lumped it into C. tominensis , primaril...

Re: Haageocereus?!?

Looks good for Haageocereus; that age many are very similar and tough to tell apart.
Red/pinkish flowers have popped up in various species in the genus.

Re: Mesa Garden future?

Hey Lisa!! My order of mostly plants (only 2 seed species) was placed on April 12...days after the plant list was updated. They *just* contacted me yesterday (after 2 email queries in the past couple of months) that they will start working on my order next week. We'll see. Need to catch up again soo...

Re: Mesa Garden future?

I don't hold out much hope for MG in the future. I ordered months ago (April, just days after Michiel), didn't hear anything so contacted them in May. Got auto-email that they were out of town in May and back in June. Still no word. It's a bit asinine that even a new business would require multiple ...
