Re: Need help with Cactus ID

I believe they are from New Jersey, at least they are the ones I contacted as to what species this is. Not sure how they got out here, but I did buy the cactus at a local grocery store with a regional reach.

Re: Need help with Cactus ID

Sounds good. At least there's agreement on what it is.

Re: Need help with Cactus ID

That could be. If so, I'll have to make more room for it...eventually. :P

Need help with Cactus ID

Hello everyone. I recently purchased an unknown species of cactus from a local store and have been unable to ID it even after visiting the site of the original nursery it comes from: Plainview Growers. If you guys have any ideas as to what it might be, I'd love to hear from you. I have included a pi...

ID Please and Thank You

Hey. Haven't been to this site for a while, but just bought a cactus from a local nursery on Friday and
was wondering if anybody could ID it. Average height is about 10 to 11 inches, diameter half to 3/4 of an inch.
Thank you for your time, and pics are below.

I have been monitoring this cactus, and its spines are beginning to turn from golden-brown to white. It also has an areole stacked on top of another one, and both have spines on them. Don't know if that helps, either. :?

Offset?

I have a cactus, and one of its areoles has another areole on top of it. The two areoles are attached, and the one on top is sticking out into the air. As far as I know, this cactus only has one such feature as that. Is this an offset? Any help would be appreciated and thank you for your time.

I've had some success with different types of plants using full-spectrum fluorescent lights. One of the nice aspects of them is that they put off little heat, so they can be placed very close to the plants. Also, they are quite cheap and easy to find :)

Just to let you know, the number of ribs is 6. This confuses me even more, because it goes against my original theory: I read somewhere that pachycladus have 7-10 ribs.

Yeah, I might have to wait until it gets older or until it flowers. But at least the cactus is doing well so far, even though I only got it a few days ago.

ID Please

Hello, I am new to this forum and had a cactus that needs identifying. I am really thinking along the lines of Pilosocereus, and at first I thought it was a pachycladus, but now I am not so sure. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for your time. http://www.cactiguide.com/forum/userpix/4050_Cac...
