Thanks for the comments everyone- gemhunter I'm afraid i dont have a photo of that Gymno from the top. Snowcat the plant in 6466 is Echinocereus Rubrispinus and the one in 6459 is Parodia Mammulosa, its the fist time this plant has flowered and I was surprised to see it has pink flowers not yellow.

How often to repot ?
Whats a good guide in how often to repot? If plants are being regulary fertilised do you repot say when they get overcrowded in the pot, or when growth seems to slow down or just simply every 2 years in case the growing medium gets compacted ?

n an attempt at having the bed dry up as quick as possible I've let the weeds grow rampant I've found the problem with this is if you let them get too big when you finally pull them out you'll end up pulling up the shallow rooted cactus as well. thanks for the advice BobbyZ, if imidaclorprid is harmeless to plants it wont matter if i'm overdosing them anyway, better to be on the safe side.

Thanks Ian, I didnt realise imidacloprid stays active for so long in the plant. twice a year sounds good .
