I know this post wasn't originally about flowering plants, but I thought it would be nice to see the gradual progression through the flowering process. Here's two pics of the flower on Wednesday: http://www.cactiguide.com/forum/userpix/3064_photo1_1.jpg http://www.cactiguide.com/forum/userpix/3064_p...

The cactus seems to be more firm now that I repotted it into a dry mix of Turface MVP, Coir, and some limestone chunks. This is pretty similar to the previous ...

Black spot??? Is it bruised or rotting?

I'll try to post a pic in a minute since I can't on my iPhone. I'm not sure if my cactus is bruised or rotting. I've only had it a short time, so the soil mix may be too moist compared to it's previous owners mixture. It could have also gotten bruised during shipping. The ridge along the bottom side...

Hey Gnostic,
I'm pretty sure California laws are different from the rest of the USA. As ridiculous as this may sound, I'm 99% sure all species of Lophophora genus are banned.

Thank you for the information, Darryl. I guess I'll target those varieties, and also save some seeds from the tuna I buy at the grocery store.

Thank you for the tip, Ian. Where did you find that type of watering bottle? I don't think I've seen one before.

For some reason I cannot attach the pics I wanted to add to this thread. Update: I have soaked their pots in a tub of water the last 3 times I watered my Lophs. I typically watered them from the top using a misting bottle until they appeared to be thoroughly wet, but now I realized this was not as e...

Pereskiopsis spathulata Cuttings

Would anyone like to trade something for Pereskiopsis cuttings? I have a bunch of PS plants that I could trade for some seeds or plants.
