I have a few Cintias, all on their own roots. Also a few seedlings from seed off my plants. Two things of note when growing them - be careful not to split them with too much water, and watch you don't burn them in the summer. They're high altitude plants so need lots of good air movement and not too...

Having grown Sulcorebutias for 30 years, I can say that this is natural and nothing to fret about

Fantastic Dave! As you say, there are some really kind folk around, happy to pass on plants at the drop of a hat. The Sulcorebutia sounds extremely interesting - any chance of a photo?
