Re: I saw this at a nursery

Yes you are correct! I went back to the nursery and found a small ID tag that said so. Hercules although nice is way too fast growing and huge for what I want. Thanks.

Re: I saw this at a nursery

Yes I thought dichotoma also but it looks so different from what I have in the ground. Maybe some of the smaller well watered nursery raised ones have all these leaves left.

Anyone else please have a guess. I kind of wanted it to be different from what I have :D

Re: What water do you use to water your cacti?

+1 on Steve Johnsons post. Tap water because of no rains. I acidify with vinegar to pH about 5.5-6 and it works.

Re: Astreophytum asterias care

It's what they used to say Kyle, whilst the person does not know it's rare or hard to grow it will grow like a weed for them. Tell them it's rare or hard to grow and they will probably kill it by changing their method of cultivation, or over pampering it! :D I had a small piece of Schlumbergera mic...

Adenium leaves shriveling

What is happening to these Adenium leaves? I can't see any visible bugs. The leaves will eventually die and fall off but takes some time to do so.

Spider mites? What treatment do you suggest and is it likely they are so localized to just one plant? Is the plant scarred for life?

What is this?

Rust/orange brown coloration spreading slowly from the base up. This has been going on for maybe 2-3 months but finally I reacted and took a closer look as it is spreading up. Cactus has been grown in a greenhouse always and it was close to other plants in a multi tray and no other cactus surroundin...

They usually need some winter chill weather to do so and proper watering and sun.
