I agree, i won't even think of using epiphyllum as stock unless you like a 90degree plant.

I don't know what epiphyllum is it. Here is an update.

I wish i have a bigger stock.

Don't mind if i add mine. Its a crested Astrophytum seedling on a Hylocereus stock.

I'm sure its attached but no growth so far. In fact all grafts i did on Hylocereus don't grow

Yes the scion can attach on the side with a big gap in between. Its not a failed graft nor a successful one.

This usually happens when the cut is not flat or the juice dried up before it can heal. I would cut and regraft or leave it alone if i can't risk it.

Another experiment: Epiphyllum-Pereskiopsis graft

One day i saw a shoot looking fat on the Epiphyllum. Was very curious what will happen if i graft it on the Pereskiopsis so i did it. http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e112/KenQuek/2010/th_epi-graft.jpg It seemed to be attached. http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e112/KenQuek/2010/th_epi-graft2.jpg D...

Many thanks for the encouragement guys. I think its time for me to try something nice 'for real' this time since all these are part of my practice.

Hmm... Astrophytum caput-medusae! Seed hunting begins again.

It needs alot of sun to grow big round pads. I bought mine 2 years ago and they came in big round pads. But now it is in bad shape due to insufficient light.

Sorry can't find the picture to show you.
