I agree, i won't even think of using epiphyllum as stock unless you like a 90degree plant.

Yes the scion can attach on the side with a big gap in between. Its not a failed graft nor a successful one.

This usually happens when the cut is not flat or the juice dried up before it can heal. I would cut and regraft or leave it alone if i can't risk it.

Didn't grow much bigger but spines turned white.


And a little grafted astrophytum seedling. Looks abit weird to me.

It needs alot of sun to grow big round pads. I bought mine 2 years ago and they came in big round pads. But now it is in bad shape due to insufficient light.
