1) seems to be one of those Trichocereus-hybrids that are sold in big-box stores. Could be a Pilosocereus, but I think not.

The gymno is probably G. Pflanzii, definitely not G. saglionis.
You'll know for sure once it flowers.

seems to be an E. trigona;
These root easily in soil. You might be able to root it in water, but it can only increase the chances for rot I fear.

this is some monstrose gymnocalycium; flowers are a give away. No idea about the species though.

Hamatocactus hamatacanthus is synonymous with Ferocactus hamatacanthus;
i'm pretty sure Iann is right here.

No problem here either, it germinates like any other gymnocalycium (and thus like most cacti). Might the problem be the source of the seed?
