I've seen pictures of the first one labeled as Aloe peglarae. Can't confirm because mine are about the size as yours still. I got a few in a mixed container and the first is only just starting to grow leaves that aren't stacked like that just a little bit bigger than the one you posted a picture of....

Looking for flowering Aloe ID

I picked this up several month ago from Ikea and wasn't able to pinpoint any solid IDs for it. I'm hoping maybe now that it's flowering I'll have more luck. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4133/5094707933_946d54742e.jpg Aloe Full Plant Shot by andrew.schram , on Flickr http://farm5.static.flickr.com/...

Nice, S. pelora & S. marmoreum bruneifolium especially (not that the others aren't nice, just similar to some I already have)

No worries, I like reading other people's experiences with these things too. :D

These should all be winter hardy here in the ground with good enough drainage, I haven't tried wintering them in a container yet though so can't comment on that so much.

hablu - that looks fantastic.

New Sempervivum & Jovibarba

Got a few new Sempervivum and Jovibarba yesterday. Sempervivum cv. This one's huge. It's in a gallon sized pot that it easily fills and then some. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4067/4568469775_33d51a5e4e.jpg Sempervivum 'Ohio Burgundy' Love the colour and haven't really seen any with that overall f...

Fair enough. That was really my only reason to doubt that ID so... :)

Thanks

Haworthia turgida?

Recently bought this unlabeled Haworthia. I'm thinking it's a Haworthia turgida? H. retusa was suggested by someone else but apparently does not sucker as freely as turgida

I guess getting flowers from it would certainly help. It's a hardy one is about all I know for sure, bought just a little north or Toronto. ID Aside given that it's supposed to be hardy but I'll be growing it in a pot... how should I aim to winter it? How big a pot should I be using? It was in a 4&q...

New Opuntia

I just picked this up today. Long spines and some nice winter colour still showing. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2031/4512233265_ec2fcfc37a.jpg It came from the same supplier as my Opuntia macrorhiza . There were two flats and the plants varied from fairly normal looking to this as the most extrem...

Oh, so it's supposed to look like this... That makes me feel a little better... I guess I'll just stake it or something so it doesn't take up as much room then. I've got a good place I can put it outside once the weather warms up that'll give it morning sun and afternoon shade with some orchids. Tha...

Epiphyllum (or related) looking (really) bad

It is either an Epiphyllum or something closely related. I'm going off leaves here alone as I've never seen it flower. The leaves are nothing to get excited about either. I suspect that the plant is not getting enough light, not getting enough water, and likely has terrible soil. The plant is very s...

Opuntia macrorhiza was my first guess. My other option (instead of moving the plant) is moving the things around it. Which I may decide to do. I guess I still have time to think about it since it's still covered in snow. I suppose cuttings should be taken after the pads have re-inflated. Should they...

Cold hardy Opuntia in Toronto

Here are some pictures I took of the plant in question in July 2008. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2794/4394344522_6ed9f3b1ff.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4051/4393578665_a611d3e72f.jpg I will also probably need to move this plant this year - when's the best time to try this? How about best t...

Hello. New to succulents & cacti in chilly Canada

I've recently become interested in succulents and have also ended up with a Mammillaria prolifera and have a hardy Opuntia growing outside for the past several years. In succulents I have a Haworthia limifolia v. limifolia inside, outside there's a low growing variegated Sedum of some sort and a Sem...
