Re: Norwegian Cactus Identification

It seems to me that the flowers of this plant are not as big as those of Stapelia grandiflora. Perhaps it is rather Stapelia hirsuta ?

Re: Is this a mammillaria elongata...?

According to the ipni.org website, the correct name is Mammillaria rufocrocea (Syn. Mammillaria elongata var. rufocrocea).

Re: Tropical Cactus I D

Leaves look much like those of my oxypetalum. Flowers are needed to be sure. From my experience, it takes 3 or 4 four years to get flowers after getting roots on the cuts.

No way to grow it except in a pot here, too. But it's great to see it growing like that and the color is beautiful.

Hegar, it will be interesting to know how it gets outdoors in winter in your part of the world. I would not try it here but my plants stay in the veranda where it is close to 0° C, at times for short periods of time.

Yes, the epric website, for someone living in Europe is a good source. Thank you for the other addresses. I'm going to visit them. We also have in France someone who is totally dedicated to these plants and his website is now available in English : http://pagesperso-orange.fr/cactusepiphytes/z_index...
