In the event that you decide you don't want to keep that magnificent plant, I am more than willing to take it off your hands... ;)

Re: Fockea crispa help

What's done is done, don't sweat it. The insecticidal soap was probably a safe choice, just let it rest in the mix you have now. After it gets over the stress you can explore other potting mediums. It is a great plant with a wonderful caudex, enjoy it!

Re: Agave (?) ID Needed

I wish I could help with what it is, but I do not think it is A. lopantha. A. lopantha has some variations, but it always has light "teeth".

Which Opuntia is this?

This Opuntia has outgrown its pot, and now is trying to take over my front entry. I never have properly identified it, even common as it is. Please help.

Re: new arrivals

I don't think #2 is A. salmiana. If the people here can't give you a positive ID on #2, you may want to check out Agaveville.org to get the plant positively identified. There are a lot of agave that are similar to that plant, especially at that size; the Agave people on that site would be a good sou...

Re: Identification Request (8 requests) Intro

Nice plants! I'm sure you will get IDs in no time. You may be surprised as to what succulents do grow outside in Tennessee, despite the rain. I just takes planning beds with good drainage and plants that are hardy in your area! There are some good posts about outdoor gardens on the forum. MJPapay ha...

Re: BromeliadGuide?

Love bromeliads, but they can be nastier than cactus with their razor sharp leaf edges. Some, dyckia and puya in particular, have killer teeth! I find that I only need gloves when repotting cacti, but I need gloves AND long sleeves with my broms! Here are just a few... DSC_0229.JPG DSC_0931.JPG DSC_...

Re: Euphorbia ID

Euphorbia, all of 'em. There are so many Euphorbia out there that they are hard to pin down. Some have really cool caudex, like your first plant. Here's a link to a quick reference: http://www.fat-plants.com/category/32196118" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Rhipsalis who?

I have one with flowers like that, but that is not one of the plants on my Rhipsalis list, and 3/4 of the labels are gone, so I am confused! Yikes!
