Thanks for the info i have been using diatomaceous earth it's almost 1/3 of my soil mix. eggshell vs Mealybugs
I have a question does any one know if topping off my pots with crushed eggshells have any negative effect on my cacti? My plan is to combat my mealybug problem with eggshells I know they die from simply walking on or near them due to the sharp edges and there soft skin. I am also gonna bury a cactu...

I know i have mealybug's the nasty root kind that are hard to get rid of but i found this guy this morning any idea's what he is? could just be a mealybug that's molting?

ya it seems hydroton is the same as leca why is it no good for soil? I have been trying to find it in the 1mm-4mm size sounded like it would be a good sub for pearlite
