eggshell vs Mealybugs

I have a question does any one know if topping off my pots with crushed eggshells have any negative effect on my cacti? My plan is to combat my mealybug problem with eggshells I know they die from simply walking on or near them due to the sharp edges and there soft skin. I am also gonna bury a cactu...

I know i have mealybug's the nasty root kind that are hard to get rid of but i found this guy this morning any idea's what he is? could just be a mealybug that's molting?Image

Hey i would suggest checking the roots these jerks like to lay clusters of egges in the roots and young will eat the root juice
your alcohol shouldent hurt the plants you could probably just put it in a spray bottle and soak the plants and roots

thanks daiv i might steal your idea of the side's opening up your green house looks good i was just thinking pvc caus it's easy i have to go to homedepo and price things out.

ya it seems hydroton is the same as leca why is it no good for soil? I have been trying to find it in the 1mm-4mm size sounded like it would be a good sub for pearlite
