Lower light Cactus or succulent

I plan to give my boss a cactus/succulent for his birthday (yes i know im sucking up) and his office gets direct sun for about 3-4 hours a day and shady sun for the whole day. I also want to select a species that is very resilient as im sure it may get neglected slightly. any ideas?

My torch is in a 10 gallon pot and the lithops (3) are in a 4" pot inside the larger pot, they get full sun till 12 and then from 3 to dusk. i plan to water them much less then the torch, although i know if they wanted to their roots could escape the pot. Would that hurt them?

Lithops? in the same pot as my Trichoncereus peruvianus

Would it be ok for me to pot my lithops in the same pot as my torch? I actually plan to pot the lithops in a small pot, which i will then put in the pot with my torch. is that ok? or are their light requirements too different.
