Saw this Cereus dayami (referred to C stenogonus) yesterdsy, and quite surprised to see the flowers growing out of the trunk!

This is H mirabilis var mundula. It is often sold or seen as H mutica or H otzenii. If you search the earlier posts, you will see other have the same plant. Very proliferous. Mike

Cant tell if body still growing, might have burned at top, tho not sure that would kill the meristem?
Here is top today It bloomed back in April Now this one certainly burned or somthing!

Hi Saw the posts earlier re Opuntia pads, and fruits and wondered more broadly - are any cacti fruit not edible. I haven't tried many, tho I have eaten some Mamm and Melocactus fruit and they were actaully pretty good, considering they are only about 1/2 inch long. Obviously some like Hylocereus and...

Noticed this spination going on ,finally took a better a look, and it seems to be an offset!
Nearby, another stainesii form, nice spination developing in the ground, much better than the pottted Mike

Well, I spoke too soon. I have C bradei, and had to go look for it. here it is with the new one, doens't seem same.
Cereus hankeanus may well be right. Frankly, had never heard of it, found a few pics that are pretty close, one attached.

Actually I remembered who brought it in, and found some notes. Apparently it is E "Watusi." not much out ther on it, but seemed to me and the guy a got it from that it must be a pseudocactus hybrid of some type.

Got this cutting awhile back, and I realize I don't know what it is. I figured it would be easy to ID, probably a common tree like Euphorbia, but...
It is a lot like E pseudocactus, but among other differences, that has a hormy margin between the spines.
