pink seedlings

Some of these astrophytum capricorne seedlings sown on 6/30/12 are a bright pink, any hope for them? I've never seen this before.

Thanks for all the hard work, I work in IT so know that sinking feeling when you realize something like this has happened, I feel for you.

These have grown the fastest for me of all the seeds I've started. Rebutia_aiquilensis, sown 7/10. Seed from MesaGarden. And as I kill way more seedlings than live, I do believe it's a testimony to their hardiness.

I've bought seeds from Succseed a few times and never had a problem with the regular shipping. They come quickly too.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking they were, but I've never had to deal with bugs besides fungus gnats before.

What are these?

Hi,

I noticed these grey egg shaped things on a few of my cacti this morning. Can anyone tell me what they are and how to get rid of them? I an pick them off and they squish, so i assume it's some sort of larvae.

Thanks, jennifer

I'd recommend looking at Mesa Garden's site mesagarden.com or succseed.com. As another relative newcomer to growing cacti, they've been great places to get seed after the girl at a local garden center told me it was impossible to grow cacti from seed, so of course they didn't carry any.

What gorgeous frogs. We've raised some toad tadpoles, but always let them loose in the garden once they get about an inch or so. Wonderful for the munchkin (aka child) to see the metamorphosis though.

First flower!

I just can't contain my excitement, these are M. Chica seed from MG, sown 6/10/09 and I couldn't believe what I saw this morning. The plants aren't more than 1/2 inch in diameter and one has the tiniest flower ever. the one in the background appears to have a bud as well. Sorry the pictures aren't g...

Well, not sure what the bigger ones on the left are, they were from a packet of mixed seeds. In the other pots are escobaria sneedi, m. chica, echinocreus longisetus, g. borthii, t. pachanoi ( I believe this guy's been renamed,) m. capensis, and then some tiny carnegiea gigantea and t. peruvianus.
