Just a quick update.
Ive been watering the cacti every 2-3 days
and giving them a GOOD watering (thanks bill :lol: )
They look like new plants now!
The cacti in the top first picture has filled right
out and the other one seems to be a lot better too.
Once again thanks to all for the advice :D

Hi Guys, Thanks a lot for the replys. They seem pretty well stable in the pots and they do move about a small bit but no more than the other cacti. With regards to the soil,i dug in a few inches and its bone dry. Should this be dry or slightly moist ? Also checked out the lower parts of both of them...

cactus shrivelling up

Hi All, Seem to have a slight problem with 2 of my cactus. They appear to be shrivelling up and looking worse for wear. As you can see from the picture below they live on the front window of my living room and get the sun as soon as it comes up util about 1pm when they get shade as the sun moves ove...

Thanx for the welcome.
I got some perlite now,i'll give it a few weeks
then repot again,this time in a pot with decent drainage and hopefully all will be well.
Oh and you can guarantee the south will be getting the worst of the weather soon as wimbledaon in due to start soon :lol:

Thanks a lot for the advice guys,much appreciated. Just a few more things (sorry if im a pain :oops: ) When i repotted them i didnt put any stones or gravel into the actual soil,so its just soil and nothing else in the pot. Also the pot that they are in doesnt have any holes in the bottom for draina...

Thanks for the responses :D Ive just had another look at the pterocactus and the corryocactus pics on this website and it looks to be a Corryocactus melanotrichus. I actually bought the cactus from a church fete for the princely sum of 25p..(got dragged round by the girlfriend lol) so i wont be able...
