Re: looking for Coleocephalocereus purpureus
Anyone know where I could get Coleocephalocereus purpureus seeds or a plant? I have been looking for a while with no luck. I did finally buy some seed off Ebay from a seller that did not have stellar feedback. Needless to say, none germinated. I have C. aureus and would really like to find C. purpu...

Re: Largest Cactus & Succulent show/sale in the United States
We've learned from the past how to reduce that problem. We have volunteers at all entry/exits of the show room and some walking around to monitor each area. Strictly no plants can exit the showroom or enter from the sales area.

Re: Wonderfulcactus seeds
I order from Pedro all the time. Despite the fact that I absolutely hate the format of his lists (MS Word is the absolute worst option for a list that extensive and updates often and includes items sold out and from previous lists), communication is top rate (I communicate with Pedro thru FB), and ...

Wonderfulcactus seeds
Hello,
Has anyone had any experience buying from "Wonderfulcactus seeds" on FaceBook? The seller's name is Pedro López Artés. Their seed catalog is very extensive so I was hoping to buy some but I can not seem to find reviews/experiences from anyone.

Scale or what?
Hello,
I was hoping to have some help identifying the cause of these spots forming on my cacti. I thought it was scale but systemic (imidiclorpid) did not seem to curb the issue. Could it be fungal?

Re: About Melocactus actinacanthus and M. matanzanus
Melocacti of Cuba by Zoltan Rigerszki, Gerard Delanoy, Endre Ujreti, Anselme Vilardebo is an excellent book that addresses this topic. They have concluded it to be a subspecies of M. matanzanus, distinguished by it's lack of central spine. Unfortunately it is extremely threatened with less than 10 ...

Re: Winter watering
Can anyone help clear up these apparent contradictory statements? The statements are contradictory because too many sources want to "paint with a broad brush" when they don't distinguish between cacti that are rot-prone and cacti that aren't. Although I'm growing only 65 species, hopefull...

Re: Imidacloprid update (6/8/2020)
Thanks for this information. I tried using Bayer a month ago and it did nothing to the root mealy bugs I am currently struggling with. I can't seem to find any Bonide product labeled as dual action rose & flower insect killer. Can you link the exact product please? What you're looking for is th...

Re: Imidacloprid update (6/8/2020)
Well, BioAdvanced hasn't done us any favors when the company took Imidacloprid out of their 3-in-1 formulation. (How they can still call it 3-in-1 is beyond me. :? ) Going onto the BioAdvanced website and doing a keyword search for Imidacloprid, all we come up with is Dual Action Rose & Flower ...

Re: Los Angeles Rains & Cold
Hello fellow southern Californians! I was planning on deep watering Tuesday because the rain is forecasted to stop then but I saw that on Thursday night it is going to drop down to 47F at night. I suppose I'll wait until Friday but am worried since my cacti haven't had a drink for 5 weeks.
