Thanks! Now I’m trying to figure out how I can get fruit on it. I tried cross pollinating with my only other blooming mammillaria but no success. Does it have to be an exact species to pollinate with this one?

What kind of mammillaria is this?
I grew this from a mix seed pack and it was the only one. The closest thing I see on google is Mammillaria gasseriana, but I’m not sure. The hooked spines are confusing me.

Re: What kind of lophophora is this?
It's hard to tell with non - flowering Lophophoras. It's very hard to tell with grafted ones which are quite bloated and don't look typical, like yours. Maybe it's Lophophora williamsii var. caespitosa, because it's branching very strongly. Or maybe that's just because it's grafted. Thanks! I’ll ch...

What kind of lophophora is this?
https://i.imgur.com/ktigbty.jpg https://i.imgur.com/XFP9iaK.jpg My sister bought this for me for Christmas. I know it’s lophophora, but not sure which kind? Is it too young to tell for sure? I’m hoping it has pink flowers whatever it is, because I love pink. (Also wondering when I can take the babi...

Re: Help ID this cactus I grew from a random seed pack
I wish I had more sun for it but it’s cold and cloudy most of the year :( I tried buying a grow lamp for winter but it doesn’t seem to be strong enough. Small, cheap grow lights need to be close to be effective. Twice as close gives 4 times the light on your plant (depending on the actual design of...

What time of year should I plant Christmas cactus seeds?
I cross pollinated my two Christmas cacti and they’ve produced berries. The berries still don’t feel like they’re ready to be plucked, but they’ve been growing since around Christmas time. I’m assuming they’ll be ready in the fall, so does that mean fall is the appropriate time to plant the seeds? O...

Re: Help ID this cactus I grew from a random seed pack
I agree that F. stainesii (syn. F. pilosus) is the most likely ID, but it's not certain - some of the other Feros can look very similar when young. In any case, it needs stronger light, it should be globular at this stage. Not badly etiolated, though, it should look fine once acclimated to more sun...

Help ID this cactus I grew from a random seed pack
It looks very similar to some of the other cacti from the seed pack which y’all have identified as saguaro, but there are slight differences.

Can a cactus with rot at the bottom still produce roots?
One of my cacti looks dark and squishy at the bottom, but when I lifted it from its home I saw a lot of new roots. Can a rotting cactus still produce roots or is it not rotting?

Another ID request, this time for my opuntia
https://i.imgur.com/51fgNGh.jpg These are some of the healthier pads I recently took off of the main plant that I grew from seed a few years ago. It grows like crazy but it hasn’t gotten nearly enough light so the mother plant is very spindly and I’m embarrassed to show it lol! I can post the mothe...
