We almost never use porous clay pots, too ugly. oops, nothing offensive to the clay ...

But about a quarter of our good plants are not top dressed, too la...

Nice plants, where did you order them from.
That Astro. caput. knob is a flower bud, the plant will develop around the base.
I have been able to root small tubercles like that one.

I just got back from a rock collecting vacation, from western Nevada, up Eastern Oregon, Idaho, then to Seattle. Found alot of petrified wood, apache tears, opal and alot of nice new gravels. We didn't see many cacti, only a couple opuntias. We've had a terrible summer this year in Costa Mesa, its b...

Daiv, I was told that I couldn't do novice anymore in 2000. The Avonia tree didn't get anything, I asked a Judge, Karen, whats the deal, and was told that either they didn't look at it close enough, or maybe it was tied for a trophy between the other Avonia miniture, and they forgot to give it a blu...

Here are a couple photos. This Gynmocalycium vatteri won a 1st. A friendly old German fellow told me that it was varit...

One more thing, those big piles of Azetkium ritteri's in the last picture are grafted, but the box for grafted was not checked. A big no no in my book, can't these people read instructions.

Tim
I thought that M. luethyi was grafted, though I may be wrong.
My M. luethyi (non-grafted) got a first place in the miniture division.
Your picture of the Ariocarpus is much better.
