Re: What does F.Ritter mean?
Found this video that illustrates it better Toson. This is Fray Jorge much further South. Botija is further north therefore gets a lot less fog. As you can see the density of the vegetation varies according to where most of the fog regularly hits it and is much less in places where it is infrequent...

Re: What does F.Ritter mean?
Thanks Atoz. Rather strange since most cacti in that area depend on the fog, therefore grow higher up the hills at fog level rather than being lowland plants. Ritter is possibly suggesting in the past the plants relied on rain for growing at a lower altitude, though they have not had rain for many ...

Re: A question confuses me many years
It's from seedling over-nutrient,we can see it has weak root and spine..which proves too much nutrients makes it grows too fast in shape instead of spines.

Re: A question confuses me many years
Because the stock can supply more nutrients for the plant that otherwise would not be available is same qunatities in ots own roots. I have a lobivia arachnacantha grafted on opuntia ficus indica where it grew more spines and a strong central spine. In addition, the color of the spines turned silky...

they are 'different' species when you focus on their labels but they look almost the same  neohankeana v. flaviflora = pilispinus ? in my opinion they are both syn. of taltalensis, maybe neohankeana v. flaviflora is pilispinus of which flower is yellow. 30711088_2106226306325673_5809248137503...
